Spitfire urges SME applicants to act fast for Government Gigabit Voucher Scheme
7 December 2018
Spitfire is a registered supplier for the government backed Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme.
The maximum grant available to eligible SME businesses applying to the Voucher Scheme has recently been reduced to £2,500. This contributes to upgrade of SME businesses broadband to a fast and reliable connection over gigabit capable infrastructure.
To supply gigabit speeds, a full fibre connection is required, rather than conventional copper wires. The government funded voucher of up to £2,500 will allow Spitfire to provide successful business applicants with the necessary fibre connection to their premises. Business voucher applicants can increase the value of the grant by applying with other businesses in their location.
Spitfire’s expertise in IP Engineering means it can offer access to the UK’s widest range of market leading, competitively priced gigabit circuits for fast internet access over the company’s own core network. Flexible bandwidths from 100Mbs up to 10Gbs, with symmetrical speeds and 100 percent target uptime, backed by service credits, are now available.
Commenting on the change, Dominic Norton, Spitfire Engineering Solutions Director said, “The Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme has been hugely successful and allowed us to upgrade many business customers to super-fast connectivity. But recently the government has reduced the voucher value by £500 to benefit as many SMEs as possible. I would urge any SME businesses relying on cloud connectivity for services, applications and data storage to contact us ASAP as the scheme is supplier-led.”
