WHO WOULD USE IT AND WHY? …

Able to reach download speeds of up to 1Gbps, FTTP fibre broadband is the ideal solution for businesses requiring high bandwidth connectivity while on a strict budget. FTTP removes the need of an analogue line for delivery, taking away the associated speed and performance limitations of copper. This increase in available speeds opens the door to businesses looking to utilise more bandwidth-hungry applications by significantly reducing download/upload times.

With many companies increasing their use of hosted services, the ability of FTTP circuits to reach upload speeds of up to 115Mbps makes these connections the perfect choice for businesses looking to increase their use of cloud-based IT applications.

FAULT CLEARANCE TIMES ...

Standard Care: This is the included support level providing a 40 clock hour target (every day 08:00 to 17:59).

TotalCare: This enhances the target fault clearance time to 20 clock hours (every day 00:00 to 23:59), for an additional £9.20 per month.

TotalCare Plus: For mission critical circuits this top level support option provides a target clearance time of 7 clock hours (every day 00:00 to 23:59) for just £11.50 per month.

Thankfully, with Fibre running all the way into the building, the likelihood of a full system failure is far less than with traditional, copper based broadband products. All care levels are supported by Spitfire’s industry leading service credits.

If greater service levels are required, Spitfire would recommend a dedicated, Fibre Ethernet product – click here

STANDARD OR PREMIUM? ...

The main difference between Standard and Premium versions of broadband relate to the data throughput target.

During busy times all broadband experiences changes in the speed available, called contention, which applies to the local exchange end of the circuit and is the same for all providers. Premium broadband circuits will experience priority data weighting, meaning that this traffic will be transmitted across the network first, before data from Standard broadband circuits.

Generally this means a consistently higher throughput speed on Premium circuits when compared to Standard versions.

The downstream throughput can be 50% higher on Premium circuits.

All Spitfire broadband circuits are now provided as Premium to ensure the best possible speeds and experience.

VOICE ASSIST ...

Voice Assistance utilises Quality of Service (QoS) mechanisms to identify and mark voice traffic to prevent this traffic from being dropped at times of congestion. Even if the network becomes congested, your call should not be disrupted. An allowance of 350kbps is included free of charge. More
