Spitfire Network Services Ltd (Spitfire), the award-winning provider of voice, internet and wide area network connectivity services, today announced it has reduced its carbon emissions by 41% over the last 2 year period (2022-2024) – a 600% improvement on its 6% target.

The reduction forms part of Spitfire’s commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2050. Spitfire has introduced a number of measures designed to reduce emissions company-wide, including: reduced use of air conditioning, new hosted telephone systems that make more efficient use of servers and therefore use less electricity, and technological upgrades. In addition, Spitfire has sourced electricity supplies with a lower output of carbon dioxide per kWh of electricity generated (kgCO2e per unit). This has achieved a substantial reduction in its South London data centre.

As part of its Net Zero roadmap, Spitfire is also pursuing a number of other carbon reduction methods including: minimising business travel, encouraging continued remote working, swapping company diesel vehicles for electric and more.

Harry Bowlby, Managing Director, Spitfire Network Services Ltd said: “In just two years, we have made a significant impact on our target to achieve Net Zero by 2050. This commitment is very important for all of us as a business and equally our customers, who can be assured that as a supplier we are exceeding our targets.”
